What type of therapy is right for me?
We tailor therapy to your needs using evidence-based approaches such as ACT, CBT, EMDR, CFT and CAT.
Can I book a first appointment online?
Yes. Online sessions are available and can be a convenient first step.
How do I arrange a consultation?
You can book by phone, email or via the contact page.
Do you offer a free first consultation?
We offer a free 10-minute initial conversation to discuss whether therapy is the right fit.
Q. What type of therapy is right for me?
The assessment session will help determine which psychological intervention is likely to be most beneficial for you. It may be that one model in particular such as EMDR may be helpful or an integrated approach in which a number of psychological models can be drawn upon so that the therapy is personalised to your needs.
Q. How do I arrange a consultation?
You can get in touch by phone, e-mail or via the contact page. Contact via e-mail or the contact page is preferable so that a day and time can be arranged for an initial chat on the phone to find out a little bit more about what you are looking for. If you would then like to book an assessment session, this can be organised.
Q. Do you offer a free first consultation?
A free 10-minute initial conversation is available to discuss what your needs are so that you have the chance to ask questions and see whether therapy is likely to be beneficial for you.
Q. Are you the right psychologist/therapist for me?
Choosing the right therapist is a deeply personal choice and it is really important that you feel comfortable and make a decision according to who you feel is the best fit for you. People often contact a number of different psychologists to help this decision making process. There is no obligation to book an assessment session following the telephone consultation. It is crucial that you choose a psychologist that feels right for you.
Q. Will my information remain confidential?
Therapy for Health offers a confidential service. Your personal information or therapy details will not be shared with anyone else. The exception to this is when you may be at risk of harm to yourself or others, or any child protection concerns. This will be discussed with you first, wherever possible.
Insurance companies or other agencies such as solicitors or rehabilitation providers sometimes request a report or information during your therapy or a summary at the end of therapy. For insurance companies, this tends to only arise if there is a request for an extension for further sessions beyond which are covered under the policy. This information tends to be minimal but enough to secure further sessions. This can be discussed further at your first appointment if you have any additional questions.
Q. Do you keep notes about my therapy?
In accordance with good practice HCPC guidelines, clinical notes of sessions are kept and stored securely. Dr Bewley is registered with the ICO (Information Commissioner’s Office) who regulate the storing of data under the Data Protection Act.
