Therapy process

Therapy and how it works

At the start, an initial assessment consultation will be offered. This appointment will last one hour and allows us to meet in person, to find out about the difficulties you are currently experiencing and to think together about what your goals for therapy may be and whether psychological therapy is right for you.

Your concerns will be listened to carefully and you will have the opportunity to ask any questions you might have. It is important that you feel safe and comfortable.

An estimate of the approximate number of recommended sessions will be provided. There is no obligation to continue with psychological therapy at this stage.

If it is agreed to proceed with therapy, sessions will usually be offered weekly, on the same day of the week, at the same time. Sessions last 60 minutes. Depending on the nature of your difficulty, a range of therapies may be drawn upon to specifically individualise therapy to the goals you have identified. Progress will be monitored and reviewed throughout the therapy process.

Appointment Availability

Appointments are available Tuesday to Friday. For face to face sessions, the earliest appointment time is 8.30am and the latest appointment time is 3.45pm. Online sessions are also available.
